If you've found your way here, you may already know that my name is Bill and I enjoy writing songs about God. If you did not know that, well now you do. I hope to be faithful with the songs I write. I'm not sure I know how to do that, but I think this website is a start. It contains the lyrics, chord charts, mp3's, even the stories behind the songs. And it is all free to you. So look around. Enjoy. And thanks for stopping by.

Beautiful as You

download chord chart // download mp3

(verse 1)

You humble me, reigning in glory and power
O my King, how beautiful You are

(pre-chorus)
All of me is aimed with joy
At displaying Your glory

(chorus)
Nothing in the world is as beautiful as You
Nothing satisfies my heart like You do
And forever my delight is to seek and savor You
Cause nothing is as beautiful as You

(verse 2)
You humble me, wrapped in Your gracious light
Before such beauty, my heart is satisfied

(bridge)
Nothing’s more satisfying than glorifying You

"Do you feel loved by God because you believe He makes much of you, or because you believe He frees you and empowers you to enjoy making much of Him? It is the difference between the modern world where all terminates on self, and the biblical world where all terminates on God."

"...This is the test of whether our craving for the love of God is a craving for the blood-bought, Spirit-wrought capacity to see and glorify God by enjoying Him forever, or whether it is a craving for Him to make us the center and give us the pleasures of esteeming ourselves. Who in the end, is the all-satisfying Treasure that we are given by the love of God: self or God?"

These are two great quotes from John Piper. He has many, many more. Piper's writing has had a profound influence on my journey of faith and thus, also on my songwriting. This song is a prime example of that influence.
